About Kawangware, Nairobi

Kawangware, situated in Nairobi, is a densely populated area with a high number of residents. It is located approximately 15km away from Nairobi City and can be reached within around 30 minutes by public transportation. If you choose to travel to Kawangware using KBS or a City Hopa Bus in the morning, you will witness a large crowd of people commuting to work. I find this particularly interesting for some reason.

Although I wouldn’t necessarily classify it as a slum, like any densely populated area, Kawangware is surrounded by affluent neighborhoods. It shares borders with Lavington, Riara, and Riruta estates, and interestingly, Breaebun is right on the border as well.

Renting a place in Kawangware is both affordable and secure. The only downside is the significant amount of foot and vehicular traffic. On the bright side, the cost of food and other goods is generally inexpensive.
